Trumpet practice log

A simple way to keep a trumpet practice log: what to practice each day, a free printable chart, and an app that keeps the log for you.

A 25-minute trumpet practice routine

Buzz and long tones (5 min)Mouthpiece buzzing, then soft long tones in the middle register.
Lip slurs (5 min)Easy slurs between harmonics, resting as long as you play.
Pieces (10–15 min)Rest between run-throughs; brass players tire quickly, and tired lips build bad habits.
Soft play-through (5 min)A familiar tune played softly to finish.

Rest as much as you play, and stop before the lips are exhausted.
